What treatment to try? Biologics?

I was diagnosed with UC less than 2 years ago and I am considering trying biologics.

However, I am terrified of possible side effects of biologics in general, especially at my age. I think I need my immune system to be in good working order. I am about to make an appointment with integrative medicine doctors to try acupuncture and herbal treatments like aloe vera.  Has anyone been on Entyvio or tried more natural things and have they helped?

Has anyone had good or bad results with their UC treatment? Thank you so much!

Hello,

i have been considering to try them too but like yourself, I am nervous about the impact that it will have on me as a whole. My immune system is shot to shreds. I am seeing my doctor next week and I will ask him about it and report back. It would be great to find an affective treatment, fingers crossed!

I have been on infliximab infusions since October 2018 and for the first time in almost 20years I now have a life that doesn’t involve planning anything I do round knowing where toilets are. I can recommend biologics to anyone who is offered them.

My husband has been on biologics Vedulizimab  for the past 14 months. I can thoroughly recommend this biologic to anyone. It is gut specific. He felt a lot better within a few days. He still gets the occasional flare up, but generally is a lot better and his quality of life has improved. He has infusions every six weeks. He does start to feel like he is running out of fuel a few days before it is due. He takes this and also has the misfortune to have dilated cardiomyopathy, so he has to take nine tablets daily for that. He has been fine on biologics. Please give them a try if you have the opportunity.
