Medication indications

Naloxone 400 microgram/ml solution for injection or infusion.

Complete or partial reversal of CNS depressive effects, especially respiratory depression, caused by natural or synthetic opioids and partial agonist/antagonist opioids.

Diagnosis of suspected acute opioid overdose or intoxication.

• Diagnosis of suspected acute opioid overdose or intoxication.

• Complete or partial reversal of respiratory and other CNS depression in the neonate whose mothers have received opioids.

Naloxone Hydrochloride 1mg/ml Solution for Injection in a pre-filled syringe

Naloxone may be used for the complete or partial reversal of opioid depression, including mild to severe respiratory depression induced by natural and synthetic opioids, including dextropropoxyphene, methadone and certain mixed agonist/antagonist analgesics: nalbuphine and pentazocine. It may also be used for the diagnosis of suspected acute opioid overdosage. Naloxone may also be used to counteract respiratory and other CNS depression in the new-born resulting from the administration of analgesics to the mother during childbirth.

Naloxone Hydrochloride 20 micrograms/ml Solution for Injection/Infusion

Naloxone may be used for the complete or partial reversal of opioid depression, including mild to severe respiratory depression induced by natural and synthetic opioids, the agonists/antagonists nalbuphine and pentazocine, or dextropropoxyphene. It may also be used for the diagnosis of suspected acute opioid overdosage. Naloxone may be used to counteract respiratory and other CNS depression in the newborn resulting from the administration of analgesics to the mother during childbirth.
