I have a new one for this: You know you have AS when... you can never plan ahead for anything because the pain could strike at any time!

when it takes you 3 times as long to get out of bed in the morning than it would a normal person because of the pain

I thought I'd bring this discussion back because sometimes a little humour can help us feel a bit less alone. Living with ankylosing spondylitis certainly has its challenges, but sharing those little "you know you have AS when..." moments can remind us that others truly understand what we're going through.
