@Becky2020 I haven't, I rang my doctor's, they said that it isn't them that send them. You have to get in touch with 111. Or do it online.

@TommyMurray yes I would think so. There's a list of conditions that are classed as making people vulnerable.

@Veenas that's wrong, your a key worker. Your doing a frontline job. It's not just the NHS. Everybody else gets forgotten about, which I think is wrong. Without the other people, the NHS staff would not be able to do there jobs. Everyone who is working deserves the recognition that the NHS are getting.

@Mazcollins it changes all the time. I rang the doctors and they said it wasn't them that sent the letters. You have to ring 111 or go online and fill in a form. Now diabetes 2 is not classed as high risk. My mother has COPD and that was top of the list of conditions. When I spoke with HR from work she said that COPD was not classed as high risk unless you had underlying problems. Such as cancer or had an organ transplant.

Well for those who take Metformin there may be a little bonus as the Australians are testing it as a drug to relieve the symptoms of Covid-19. Although the stats from China put the death rate of Diabetics from Covid-19 twice or more the average persons. Do register with the government if your GP has you down as a vulnerable patient, we got the first food parcel of them a few days ago. The most important bonus you get priority to online shopping a must if you are self isolating for 12 weeks!

Hello everyone,
Since the Coronavirus pandemic concerns many across the UK (and Carenity members too), I've created this discussion to allow you to talk specifically about the virus in the context of Type 2 diabetes, as we all know that people with underlying health conditions can be more affected.
If you haven't yet seen, we've published a few articles outlining the general information and guidelines for both the general population and for those with chronic illnesses:
Coronavirus: What do you need to know?
Coronavirus and chronic illness
Are you worried about the coronavirus? Have you received any special instructions from your doctor regarding your care? Are you going to limit your travel? Do you feel that you are sufficiently informed about the general and specific recommendations? Have you taken any specific precautions?
Feel free to share your comments or questions below!
Take care,
Courtney
