Good advisor
Oddly enough the week before i had been watching a hospital programme and a woman was brought in who had fallen down the stairs because her knee replacement had given way as she was coming down….i thought i was always careful as i hold on to the bannister rails going up and down stairs as i am terrified of falling but didn’t think it would happen to me..will be more careful in future .

Be good to hear from anybody that's had a hip replacement joint. I've just gone on the 2-year waiting list for one. I
Thank you

It all went well with my hip operation in hospital but afterwards I suffered quite a lot of pain including sciatica. I was constipated by the antibiotics and pain killers so wasn’t a happy bunny. Although the doctors and support staff were very pleased with my progress as I was walking very well and quickly afterwards, I wasn’t happy with the pains and discomfort.
In the end all went well and the pains waned without further intervention from the doctors. In three months I was fine and taking long walks without support. It changed when an excellent physio took time out to explain fully what had happened and why I was in pain. She said it would go and it did.

@Dingle
So glad that you are getting on well and doing long walks and pain free. You had a very good physio who helped you over your difficult times. Well done to her.
Take care abnd stay safe

A year ago this month I fractured my hip, due to a fall getting out of our car! It resulted in a hip replacement which has made me fairly mobile but recently the more walking I've done, has resulted in night time excruciating pain, throughout my left leg. Is this normal? Does anyone else experience post walking pain?

I had my hip replacement appointment yesterday, to mark one year since fracturing my left hip. The Xray showed all to be well and I was signed off from any future action! I do feel a sense of achievement and my mobility is generally quite good, though I do now need to concentrate on my right leg which has nerve damage. One thing at a time as they say!
