Hello everyone,

How are you today? emoticon cute

Though we can't hear it tick, our body has its own internal clock - the circadian rhythm. Our personal circadian rhythms, or "chronotypes" vary from person to person but may also run in families. The two main chronotypes are what we commonly refer to as "early birds", those who tend to go to bed and wake up early, and "night owls", those who tend stay up and wake up late.

If you'd like to learn more, don't hesitate to read our article: Can waking up early benefit our health?

What about you? Are you more of an early bird or a night owl? Has that changed as you've aged? Would like to be one more than the other? Have you ever tried to change your sleep cycle?

I'm still an early bird and up at 5am... Unfortunately our little dog was put down a few years ago so my husband and I take the early 7am bus to the city for a cup of coffee. It's lovely and peaceful early morning before the town gets crowded, but winter is here now so it's dark and cold. I still love winter!

Well when I worked I was up at 3.300 on average each morning and I got used to it as I saw a lot of life then and I enjoyed it ,but since my retirement I don’t feel the need to get up so early as it makes the day very long ,so I rise somewhere around the 10 oc mark and by the time I have breakfast and my medication 💊 taken it’s near enough midday, so the grandchildren usually call after school so that stretch,s the day out ,evening gets very close at that stage I try to catch up with the happenings of the day and tune into the news ,after all that I’m ready to relax and take a deep breath, I agree getting up early is probably best but you will tire early as a result
