The fatigue! I'm fed up of sleeping 20 hours a day and still feeling exhausted. There's just no respite from it. The chronic pain would be manageable with balms, baths and pacing but the fatigue is a nightmare.

@Hippymum‍

I don't suffer from fatigue, there for not in a position to advice. But in my opinion, the more you sleep, the the more tired you feel. I don't know your capabilities, what you are able to do and your mobility. But if at all, you are able to do exercises, they help in making you feel energised. Walk outside in the nature in fresh air helps too. Keeping your mind occupied with puzzles, jigsaws, arts and crafts, researching on line etc can also help. Perhaps you have tried all that, I don't know. Just trying to help. Sorry if it is no help to you. Hope you find a solution. What ever it is that you are suffering from that causes you to have fatigue, can the professional in that field help?

Good luck

Thank you for your kind answer. Unfortunately, any exercise I try to undertake results in worse suffering and exhaustion.

It's called Post Exertion Malaise (PEM) and affects all M.E. sufferers.  It's this that has caused the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE), the UK's medical regulator, to remove exercise for M.E. patients from the guidelines for doctors.

The only thing that helps is pacing, using the little energy I have wisely. If I push too hard, and overdo it I can guarantee my symptoms will 'flare' for the next three or four days and I'll be totally good for nothing. I keep my mind active by reading, playing solitaire and such games on my phone and watching videos on you tube. I can't concentrate on anything for too long and I'm sensitive to light and sound as well.

Thank you again for your kind thoughts.

@Beaubeau‍

If your lower legs and feet swelling is something new, you need to get that checked out If there is collection of fluid in your legs and swollen, there are other causes, such as kidney or heart problem. Won't do you any harm to get that checked out. Good luck

I'd like to get rid of my Fibromyalgia, as the constant pain and distress it causes, is very painful and tiring, with no sight of any real release, from the total way your life changes. It's a living hell.

Without doubt fatigue. And other people's perceptions that I'm 'just a bit tired' when it actually feels like I've been hit with a sledgehammer! And friends telling me how 'lucky' I am that I can have an afternoon nap and STILL sleep for 8+ hours a night. And having to go to bed by 8pm only to be up like a lark at 4am and have to wait for the rest of the world to get up.                                                                                                                                                                                         You get that I really dislike fatigue, right? But hey, still here and still smiling - between naps! emoticon yawn
