Hello everyone 🌼
How is everyone feeling today?
This is such an important discussion, sometimes just naming the symptom that weighs on us the most can feel like a little release. One member once told me, “If I could just get rid of the constant fatigue, I think I’d feel like myself again.” For many of us, it’s not even the pain, but the slow drain of energy, memory, or mood that chips away at our everyday life.
So let’s talk:
If you could wave a magic wand and remove one symptom, which one would it be?
How would it change your daily life, your relationships, or your independence?

Frequent peeing. So I could get a decent night's sleep. When I was hooked up to s pee bag it was bliss! 😂

I have epilepsy since birth, I'm turning 45 this year. If epilepsy was curable, I wish I could have been cured , as this illness has affected my short term memory, causes confusion and difficulty in understanding. I have fewer seizures now but still have to take medicine with it's long term side effects.

My wish would be to be free of epilepsy especially after 51 years of struggling with the condition.

@lesmal , I understand and I feel the same too. I am really frustrated i cant progress in life, but feel jobwise, it is extremely difficult on top of concerns of the government planning to reduce PIP entitlements. I have increased my Clobazam from 15mg to 20mg , 200mg Briviact in 2 equal doses, and Epilim 1,200mg a day. I still have 3 to 5 absences daily and wish they would stop completely. Im 45 now and not young anymore. Since my late father passed away I feel mortified always.
My wife blames my mother for not fully disclosing the impact of my seizures before we got married, and despite 17 years together, i sense she is gettting more and more frustrated with me. I am going for therapy but I cant seem to change myself for my wife to feel better. This is now bothering me more than anything and wont help me to have better seizure control. My wife refuses to leave me for someone that can support her better as my sisters are rather bossy. She goes on to say that she cant bare to live with someone else being happy whilst im not supported. That is not right of her to think that way as she is no happier with me. It is no different when we both are unhappy but separation will lead to financial hardship. Sorry for the rant(:

@Sunshine5 I agree totally with all you've mentioned. I'm now nearly 68 and been remarried for 35 years. My husband has been great with understanding my frustration and how the seizures affect me. I'm fed up of trying medication after medication and have just been put on Keppra for the last 10 weeks. Moods, emotions and feelings hit us all as side effects of the meds but luckily I'm still independent to get out and about freely at the moment. I've sent you a friend request. Feel free to message anytime.

Definitely the brain fog, I can be part way through a conversation and the word I'm looking for has completely vanished so annoying! I usually have a girl trying to describe what I'm trying to say most of the time it doesn't work and I give up end up laughing about it.
