The constant pain I am in. Just because I opt to get up, shower and make myself presentable, people assume I am ok...If they only knew the daily pain I experience.

The amount of effort it takes to act and look "normal"! I think that people expect someone with pain and chronic illness to not care about their appearance and spend their life at home, feeling sorry for themselves.
But no, sorry, in fact, not sorry, I shouldn't be made to feel like a fraud, just for wanting to be out of the house and looking like I made an effort to look nice. I feel better when my hair is styled, I'm dressed nicely and have a slick of lipstick on! Inside every nerve and fibre is screaming at me to rest, every part of my being wants to just lay down and rest, but like hell I will!!

Hey everyone, how are you doing today?
Chronic illness often hides in plain sight. There are symptoms we can name… and then there are the parts no one sees:
🧠 This week, we want to open space for what so often goes unspoken.
👉 Finish this sentence in your own words:
“One thing no one sees about my illness is…”
You can write a sentence, a short thought, or just drop an emoji if that’s what feels right. There’s no pressure to explain or perform. Just know you’re in a space where people get it.
💙 Your story might help someone feel less alone today. We’re listening.
Take care,
Somya from the Carenity team 🌼
