Hello everyone, how are you doing today? 🩺

Blood pressure can fluctuate quite a bit throughout the day, depending on various factors like stress, physical activity, medications, sleep quality, hydration, and even meals. For most people, blood pressure tends to be higher in the morning, especially within the first few hours after waking up. This is due to natural hormonal changes like the “morning surge,” when cortisol levels rise to prepare the body for the day.

However, that’s not the case for everyone. Some people see their blood pressure peak in the evening due to stress, fatigue, or medication wearing off. Others may notice it spike after a meal, during physical activity, or even when they’re resting if they’re feeling anxious.

👉 How often do you check your blood pressure?

👉 Have you noticed a specific time of day when it tends to be highest?

👉 What do you think influences your readings the most: stress, sleep, food, or something else?

Due to my epilepsy, my blood pressure tends to rise throughout the day until approximately lunchtime... I am very active and get hypertensive over small issues, i.e. congestion in crowds, standing in queues and more. I take Atenolol daily, and know when I start having focal seizures that hormonal levels are out of balance and stress then occurs.
