Hi, I have been diagnosed with BPD but I have only had CBT, wasn't really effective in the long run...

Oh I have also been on Citalopram and am now on Fluoxetine, which helps a bit but ya know...it'd be nice to have a cure...

Hi everyone...My hubby has got severe Bipolar and he has been having a rough time of it lately. He was told by his GP that people who have anxiety, depression which was what he had in the first place and was diagnosed 1972 with Manic Depression, now called Bipolar were born with it, and it is in their make-up, their Genes and it runs in families. I suppose that is right as a GP has said this!?? Hubby was on Propranolol, then Ativan until it was taken off the market, then he was on Fluoxetine, now Seratine and Sertraline. The GP is changing his medications again, not sure what hes having next. Hubby has many other illnesses too.

Hubby was given the book below, but he didn't read it or take notice of any of the techniques. I read it and found it very helpful and has helped me to help hubby over the years and I swear by this book as it makes me feel laid back in many situation so I can deal with whats going on around me and my own health issues when they arise. You can either buy this book, it is on Amazon or you can loan it from a library. I have owned this book since 1972. I hope this information helps you.

CBT, is in reality the Haynes manual of the brain. If we want to listen to it or not is a free choice. It is this that we have to remember..

Most people also pay for a Haynes manual, yet most people refuse this free advice..

Hey, I have BDP - diagnosed 7 years ago. Been on loads of meds, and coping on them. But I want to think properly, instead of all this constant shit in my head. Tried CBT but can't get anything on NHS and its so freeking expensive. Tried other counselling too but I just can't afford it. :(
