Hello everyone,

Patients with chronic respiratory diseases such as COPD are part of the population at risk of complications from Coronavirus infection. It's really important to follow recommendations and guidelines published by the government and the NHS in order to best protect ourselfs from infection.

Feel free to consult our two recent articles on the coronavirus and chronic illness for more information:

Coronavirus: What do you need to know?

Coronavirus and chronic illness

I've created this discussion so we can pose any questions or concerns about the current pandemic or just generally share our feelings about what is going on.

Have you consulted the recommendations? Who informed you first: you doctor, your pharmacist, a relative? Have you been taking any particular precautions? Have you been self-isolating? Do you have any advice for others?

Take care,

Courtney

I have copd I am 66 still working but on furlough after having the letter I live in Wales so still on lock down it is worrying I think that us who are shielding will be the last to go back it is a worrying situation as I am a care assistant and when October comes in the flu season starts and they say there could be another spike it is frightening

In answer to the message about having the letter of shielding and stating that it says do not resuscitate that is totally wrong I have had a letter and it dose not say that on mine I am in wales and I cannot see them being any different

I agree with you about the beaches down here in Dorset beaches packed as is new forest, why are some people so stupid. Personally I am scared stiff hubby and I habent been out the house since Maech he has cancer and I have COPD, hospital letter arrived today the cancelled his prostrate appointment said it will be done over the phone, hes deaf so hope they let me answer for him also to have a blood test before their call.  So much to worry about and having to turn my family away and not see my grandsons just when I need them most. But it's all of us who are sheilded my heart goes out to you all.

Hi everyone, hope you're all coping. Trying to appreciate the small victories or little pleasant things in this dark time. Please stay safe those of you who are returning to work! xx
