Hello all, I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me. Recently I've been having trouble with constant mucus and a feeling of discomfort in the throat. Does anyone else have this? Do you have any good remedies?

Hi I have been giving carbocisteine to help with the mucus which does help thin the mucus and make it easier to cough up.

I had breathing exercises from tge pulmonary rehsbilitation clinic, which helped to clear the mucus which is stuck in my throat

These can be found on line by looking at throat clearing exercises.

This includes pursuing your lips and huffing, then coughing 3 times each

Have you all got rescue packs at home how often do you have to use them mine has been stopped

I have emphysema and while on this critical list i started coughing and bringing up green flem they call that sputum i had to phone my gp and they told me i had to start using my stand by antibiotics and steroids, also i was told to axk for another suply so i always had a xtand by pack when i had finished, i was really worried about this as i was told that coronavirus started with a cough but he asked me different questions, but it was just a chest infection, but he ordered me to have a chest x ray because he knew that i have breast cancer and j have been on remission for 2 yrs i was really worried i had my chestx ray the next day but it was ok it was just an infection so now i still have my stand by pack just incase it occurs again so if you have emphysema or copd then ask for a stand by pack of antibiotics and steroids and the chemist will send you a supply as soon as your doctor says it ok for you to have them i didnt know this till i had Rehabillitation exercise last year now when i have an infection i always tell them and they always say use my stand by pack so it is worth asking your specialist or gp hope this helps love Tiger

I find using an Olbas inhaler helps reduce the coughing element, when I do get a coughing Fit I find that the sputum is clear.

i have also been prescribed anti histamine tablets which also helped to improve along with a steroid nose spray, because there are various types available it is unfortunately trial and error until you find one that suits. Although I suffer with COPD I am told that most of the nose issues and coughing in rynatis
