Dear all, does type 2 diabetes make you extremely tired? I seem to be fighting to stay awake most afternoons and always thirsty. I'm taki 2 metformin morning along with Glicozides and 2 metformin in the afternoon. I'm havi a nightmare trying to get blood glucose down below 14. I've only once had 7:9. Highest was in the 30's. Help. X

Thank you all for your replies which I appreciate and take on board advise. JazzyC you sound upbeat and like you, Maurice sometimes wobbles he looks like he is drunk, but with all the meds he is t.total. His main problem is the numbness, feeling wobbly and sweating.

He always has a nap in the afternoon because he has Rheumatoid Arthritis as well and he  has no energy poor lad. He had double pneumonia in February and still getting over that. Life can be cruel but you have to get on with it and make the most of it. Moan over.

Thank you for listening guys you are all really nice.

Apart from our landline out of order and hoping BT don't charge us, the car won't start but being looked at today, my camera not working and grandson off school with us a bit poorly, everything is ok!!! lol

Regards to all

Kath x

PS I had a liver scan yesterday was ok but they couldn't find my gallbladder!! lol

It never rains but it pours as they say .I know about the pneumonia taking out of you .Four days after my mums funeral in February I collapsed and ended up in HDU ward in the hospital with complications from pneumonia and even now I have to make sure that I don't do to much and am on maintenance dose of antibiotics .One good thing is that it has given me more time to write and I have had a couple of pieces published in anthologies .Every cloud has a silver lining as my Granddad used to say .Hope you sort out your car , phone etc. that your grandson is better and they find your gallbladder !

Hope you have had a good weekend folks.

We haven't done much, haven't felt like it.

Husband has his diabetes review tomorrow with the nurse, wonder what will come out of that?

Keep well xxx

Three things are important to me:

Eat three times a day - no snacks

Take the medication as directed

Exercise regularly - a 20-30 minute walk per day.

I've had T2 for seventeen years. I have my ups and downs but I know what works for me and that includes 1000mg Metaformin three times daily and an insulin injection before going to bed. When I add exercise to that and eat three meals a day I keep my glucose levels between 5 and 7.

Hi all

I have all the problems you all are talking about

Mine started about 4 years before was diagnosed with T2 diabetes when I got terrible cramps in my feet and legs especially at night I was referred to the  neuropathy department at the hospital and had numerous test which showed I had peripheral neuropathy I was given Gabapentin but had a violent reaction to it so I was prescribed Pregabalon which I take 100 gm at night before bed and again 50gm  at lunch time and also 10mg Nortriptyline and 1 metformin in a morning

I wobble still but am not in pain every night like before but they do make you sleepy I also find it difficult to stay awake especially after my dinner at night

I have a  stair lift now as climbing the stairs was difficult I also have a lung complaint which doesn't help with the breathing

I am now finding that I have it in my fingers but I have osteopathy as well in my hands

I tell my grand children don't get old its not pretty ha!ha! I am 80

good luck to you all Ann
