Dear all, does type 2 diabetes make you extremely tired? I seem to be fighting to stay awake most afternoons and always thirsty. I'm taki 2 metformin morning along with Glicozides and 2 metformin in the afternoon. I'm havi a nightmare trying to get blood glucose down below 14. I've only once had 7:9. Highest was in the 30's. Help. X

I am in my late 50s ,was diagnosed with type 2 July 2015 ,put on insulin in April this year and my blood sugars are slowly stabilising at between 8 and 12 . I'm trying  lose We with Slimming world but finding it hard as my diet is quite restricted because of allergies and digestive problems .It was suggested I went on a low carb diet but because I don't absorb carbs properly it didn't work out and I kept passing out but I am determined to keep going and even I only lose a few pounds it will help .Keep positive and do what you can is my motto good lucky to everyone .

Seems ages since I was on and lots has changed. My husband and I got divorced and my son helped me do a food diary. By keeping to a fairly strict diet I can control both my diabetes (normal reading UK 7.5) and diviculitus and lost nearly 4 stone in weight. This year though has been hard as I have a suspected soft tissue sarcoma and I am completely drained mentally and physically. I have an operation scheduled to remove it on 24th August. Worried doesn't come anywhere near. I think that I might have to start from scratch on the diet front
