Hi everyone,

We all know hydration is important, but for people with type 2 diabetes, staying hydrated can play a bigger role in managing blood sugar and overall health. Some people even say they feel more energized and stable when they drink enough.

So, what’s your experience been?

  • Do you feel different when you drink more or less water?
  • Have doctors or dietitians ever given you hydration advice?
  • Do you have tips to help you stay on track with fluids?

I do feel different when I drink more water however I am terrible at remembering to drink more! I do feel as I have more when I do. In winter I struggle the most. I often add hot water so it’s not too cold which helps me. Befire meals I will try to drink a small glass.

GP and hospital have advise to drink more water but not actually given any practical tips etc.

I have an app that reminds me to drink 1 cup of water every 2 hours and let me tell you, the difference is night and day. I also have fatty liver and blood pressure and this is the single best thing I've done for my health, as senseless as that sounds..
