Hello all, I've got UC as you all know, and I'm on entyvio and azapress, so I guess I'm one of the "at risk" for catching this mess. I'm starting to get worried with the Coronavirus panic. Primary school is closed for my grandchildren and my daughter can't work from home so I've agreed to care for them. Should I stop taking my treatment if it's putting me at risk? Haven't been able to get through to my GP yet. Have any of you had any advice from yours?

Thanks in advance.

@GillianSTR Hello Gillian, thank you for opening this discussion. I think many members may be worried about this.

Hello members, I hope you don't mind me tagging you, how are you doing during this difficult time? Have you had any advice from your doctor?

@GillianSTR @Courtney_J I was told by my medical team not to go near hospital, as I had several tests pending. The funny thing that I came across the other day when I was reading a few articles was that COVID-19, when it gets complicated, leads to an exaggerated autoimmune response in the lungs. The doctor in the article recommended treating these cases with cortisone, which is often prescribed for UC. I wonder if that may help us if we were to catch it...

But ultimately the best thing for now to follow the NHS and government guidelines and advice until we flatten the curve. I saw that France extended their quarantine until mid-May, so I suppose we may be inside for a while longer. We can do this though if we stick together! xx
