I have been on many of these drugs. However, due to many chest infections, I have been unable to take my drugs for a year now.  Has any one else had this problem?

Hello Ita

I haven't had chest infections, but I have had AS since I was a teenager so I can give you some tips of how to cope without the medicine. This has always worked for me even when I don't take my pills for some reason.

First of all I swim a lot and keep active and second, and this is the magic ingredient, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy. I suggest you to find a good physio that can give you a routine and you'll see that it will lower the pain a lot.

Cheers

Hi Alliui1,

Please forgive me I am embarrassed when I see the date you so kindly wrote to me.

My Rheumatologist told me that I was end stage A.S. I didn't like it but I had to agree. I was diagnosed 1987, I had my first hip replacement in 1988, my second in 1989. I have had many surgeries, neck, back, wrists, fingers, and two further hip replacements.

unfortunately I have to use a wheelchair now however, I do have physio exercise that I try and do several days a week. When I am in hospital I have the advantage of hydro.

Ita
