Hello everyone,

I hope you're doing well.

As you may know, there are a number of treatment options available for RA from NSAIDs and DMARDs to corticosteroids, painkillers and topicals.

How did you choose your RA treatments? Did your doctor guide you in your choice or treatment and do you think he or she took your comments and wishes sufficiently into account when prescribing your medicines? Or were you "left in the dark" on the matter?

I was lucky that I was referred to a very good RA Consultant. He did not just look at the disease but also at every consultation he asked about and checked my general health. He explained everything to me about RA from day 1 and gave me all the information I required. He guided me towards the treatments that he thought would suit me best and as soon as we both realised a treatment was not working he switched me to another treatment. This meant that I have now gone through NSAIDs, DMARDS, Corticosteroids, and now on JAK inhibitor - Rinvoq - just finished month 1. I was informed of every step.
