Hello my name is Joan and looking like I've got RA. Been suggested I go on methotrexate but I'm a bit dubious as A previous cancer sufferer and long term probs from chemo. Any advice please.

Thanks..

If you are clear of cancer treatment and well it will help with inflammation. Check with your doc. Have used methotrexate for almost 10 years now and it can effect you with nausea but generally only till your body is used to it.

@Chillypepper methotrextate is really good it does help it got my swelling down but if you cannot handle the tablets then you may be allowed to go onto injectables and the pens are easy and almost pain free too

I was really unwell with nausea and vomiting with the tablets. Since going on the injections I have not had any side effects and the preloaded pens are great to use, less painful than when I had to use needles

Have been on methotrexate tablets for 3 months and it has changed my life from agony to feeling human again. A bit of indigestion but nothing else on side effects.
