Hi I have suffered with this illness for over eight years, at first I was given mtx and naproxen but I soon discovered that I also had liver complaint due to the medication given and was soon taken of naproxen.  I have tried many even one I was taken put me in hospital for over a week with an infection which I could not shift.  I was then put back on MTX (methotrexate) injections again I had suffered bad reactions and soon taken off them,  And put on a Anti-TNF treatment called CIMzia (if I have spelt it right) self inject.  It was brilliant treatment soon felt better in myself after two days!  But also short lived I cam out in a rash all over my body and again taken off it.  I am now on Tocilizumab Infusion it helps but not as good as Cimzia and it leaves me tired for about a week to ten days after treatment.  And also starts to wear off during the last few days before another treatment.  I will soon be on self inject soon so I don't have to spend and hour to two hours hooked up to a drip.  I am also on steroids and morphine when the pain gets too much

I'm now on Tocilizumab and doing quit well,Yes I have to go to hospital every month and sit for a hour and a half don't mind as long as it keeps working.Ive come of the steroids as I can cope with a few aches and pains, but have had a couple of flare ups but mainly in my hands.Ive also bin suffering with sciatica which I'm hoping is under control not with tablets but sports massage.Fingers crossed .
