I sleep separately to my partner due to my mild sleep apnea I snore terribly and also I tend to fall asleep in front of the TV without knowledge. I'm awaiting an appointment to see a sleep consultant

I was diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea in September 2024.
I picked up my CPAP machine last December.
Before my diagnosis I was forever accidentally waking my fiancé up due to my snoring, but he works and my snoring didn't help.
Since I've started using my CPAP machine, I haven't snored once and the best thing is that my CPAP machine is silent.
The only time there's a noise coming from it is when the air is escaping through the mask.
That usually happens when I'm settling down to sleep as it doesn't matter how many times I slacken or tighten my mask, air still escapes somehow, but I discovered that there's a built-in mask seal check, so if I've already checked the seal on my mask myself and I haven't found any leaks then I'll use the built-in mask seal check just to make sure I haven't missed any.
Although I have been struggling to sleep wearing it recently though.

Hi everyone,
Sharing a bed can be a challenge when sleep apnoea enters the picture. Between snoring, CPAP machines, and frequent waking, both partners can struggle to rest. But many couples have found solutions that work for them, with patience, humour, and honesty.

Let’s talk about how sleep apnoea affects couples, and what helps you find balance.
