Hello everyone,
Many people with type 1 diabetes are diagnosed in childhood or adolescence, which means the challenges start early: School trips. Exams. PE class. Lunchtime. Dorm life. Managing blood sugar, injections, and the fear of going low at the worst time… all while just trying to fit in.
For some, it shaped who they are.
For others, it came with stigma, isolation, or moments they’d rather forget.
💬 Looking back:
How did T1D affect your time in school or university?
Did teachers or classmates understand what you were going through?
What helped you, and what would you tell your younger self now?

Your experience might resonate with others who’ve grown up managing this condition, or with parents raising a child who’s facing it today.
Take care and speak soon,
