I've had fibro ten years now..since last year have been having hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy with amazing results.. Barely use painkillers anymore and much more able to participate in life again.. Please if you can try this it works... It sends 100% oxygen to every cell in your body and after ten sessions I could sleep as well as pain decreasingly all the time. Energy is back in my life!

Hi I've heard this from a lot of people they say it's helped . Also some people have it for other things of illness . It depends where you live , your postcode and if you get the funding these days . It's so wrong The NHS are wanting to help but their hands are tied if they can't get the money ?

I live in Ireland too.. I had to borrow the money but its mostly funded by charity and people with illnesses contribute just 20 euro per session. but look this up BHOC.IE.. Bandon hyperbaric oxygen chamber. .. Its suggested twenty sessions as quick as possible ( I found benefit after 6 sessions and by tenth session I was hardly on painkillers) I still have top up sessions when needed but the change in all of me is amazing! Please look them up.

No it is not funded anytime.. Hence I made the decision to borrow the money and am still paying it off now..but it was worth that decision many times over.

I have mostly stayed away from painkillers as I realised (and the head of my Pain Team confirmed) there is no real painkiller that helps fibro pain. The only treatment I have found that helps with the pain is acupuncture. I am lucky enough to have a community acupuncture clinic in the village I live in where you pay on a sliding scale according to what you can afford. Recently they have had NHS funding to treat patients for free course to help with pain. Not sure what the criteria is but might be worth investigating if you are ok with needles and have a community clinic in your area.
