Looking back, I think the hardest part for me (especially in my 20s) was all the shame I carried around feeling ‘lazy.’ I didn’t have much support back then, so unlearning that mindset took a long time. Now that I’m in my 30s, I’m finally learning how to pace myself, and it has genuinely changed my life. On the tougher days I let myself not fight the fatigue and just lean into it. I do gentler things like gardening or playing video games, and I’ve figured out a few low‑effort meals that still make me feel like I’ve accomplished something. I try to do those in the mornings when my energy is highest. It really is all about balance. Our bodies are in energy debt a lot of the time, and that’s okay. Take whatever time you need and find your own rhythm.
And honestly, removing the word ‘lazy’ from your vocabulary is one of the best things you can do for your mental health. It’s not easy at all, I still have days when I feel useless or like a burden to my partner. But beating yourself up for not doing enough only drains you more. When you start listening to your body and your limits, you end up in a better position to do more and feel better. It seems backwards, but it’s true.

Hey everyone,
How are you holding up today?
One of the hardest parts of fibromyalgia fatigue isn’t just the physical exhaustion; it’s how invisible it is to others. When your body feels heavy, foggy, or like it’s hit a wall for no clear reason, it’s easy to start questioning yourself… or to feel judged by others who think you’re “just tired” or not trying hard enough.
💬 Let’s talk about it:

Your voice matters, and your experience is valid. You’re not lazy, you’re living with something real and complex. 💙
Take care,
