Hi everyone 👋
Making plans can sound simple - meeting a friend, going shopping, attending a family event, or even getting a few things done around the house.
But with fibromyalgia, it may not always be easy to know how much energy you’ll have when the day actually arrives. Sometimes you may feel well enough when you make the plan, only to feel very different later. Other times, you might have to think about how much energy an activity will take and whether you’ll need time to recover afterwards.
It can make even enjoyable plans come with a lot of thinking in the background.
Do you tend to plan ahead around your energy levels, or have you learned to take things one day at a time?
Have you found any little strategies that make plans easier, such as keeping a backup plan, leaving time to rest, or being more comfortable saying no when you need to?
And is there anything you wish friends or family understood about making plans when you live with fibromyalgia?
I’d really like to hear how members of the community handle this.
