@Hercules038...it seems for the majority of us pain and fatigue are the two things we would willingly give up, oh to have a magic wand 🤔 take care now 😊 x

Izzy, I've not had intravenous drip for MS. My tablets codeine, which I take for extra pain. The Dr said that codeine in my liver makes that into Morphine. That's all I know.

@HazelRutter Good Morning Hazel.

I am really annoyed with the Health System here in the UK!!!!!

Hazel the Doctor lies to you!!!!! Arrrr!

No Sweetheart it does not! We can only give Morphine Intra Venous. Oromorph is liquid Morphine but with a very low dose of it! Then they are the Patches!!!! There are so many things that Doctors and even Nurses will say to Patients that makes me so ANGRY!!!! They lie so much!!!!

This week on Tuesday I had to call the Paramedics due to severe stabbing pain in my Stomach!!!! Ended up in A&E went for a X-R then the Doctor came to see me and said: “ You need to go to Theatre You have a Bowel Obstruction!!!”

I went wild and said I suffer from SMA and now you want me to have a Colostomy Bag?????!

I refused to go to Theatre and requested Byscopan IV and 1gr of Paracetamol IV and said that he could do all the “ Manoeuvres to try to “de tangle!” my bowels!!!!!!”

He was not happy but agreed...!

After all this (6 hours) later I was completely exhausted but did what I Wanted!!!!

And it worked!!!!

Doctors here in the UK are “flipping!” drastically stupid!!!!! Apart from my Neurologist I must say!!!!!

I am home now very tired but did not need Surgery...

I did not Study here in the UK to became a Nurse ( I hold a Masters in Nursing). Only use the knowledge and the ... “Masters with Arrogant Doctors and Nurses!!!!

Appalling!!!

Hugs 🤗🤗 and Kisses 😘😘😘

Izzy.

@Izzyjamal Good Morning All!

Happy Sunday!

I am no better than you I suffer from a Neuromuscular Disorder SMA Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 4. I was diagnosed 5 years ago. I am now 51. I can not walk,

i am double incontinent-I use pull ups pads, I can not cook, I can only swallow small amounts of food very soft, I can not bath myself.... but this very very very Neuromuscular Disorder does not affect my brain!!!!

I am in agonising Neuropathic Pain 24/7 and I refused opioids!

But that is only me due to my knowledge of these I take Paracetamol Ibuprofen Gabapantin and Amitriptyline Morning and Night!!!! May I add that is does even touch my pain!!! But I developed my own method! Yes just Einstein!!!! I block the pain in my head the best way I can!!!!!

I as in an unique individual decided that it is not time for opioids!!! Will not take them!

Funny conversations in the Pain Clinic not in a bad way, no no just that the Doctors “admire” my resilience!!!! Nothing admirable just that I have a brain functioning!!!

I understand PAIN BUT IT WILL NOT DEFEAT ME!!!!! This said I fully understand everyone that has Pain trust me!!!

Be strong 💪!!!!

Anything I’m always here. Drop me a message I’ll always reply and listen!!!!

Hugs 🤗🤗🤗 and Kisses 😘 😘😘

Izzy, thats very nice to now i can talk to someone who has and who is still suffering in a simular way to me . i forgot to mention i also suffer with fibromyagia chronic fatigue n always energyless . i like you refuse to take painkillers untill its absolutely necesserilly i had so many drugs pumped into me as a child to keep me alive and pain control. when i was old enough i refused them n take alturnative measures like heat pads ,baths ,warm blankets when i am cold pain is worse . @Neil1964 Good Morning Dear Neil.

I so wish I could visit just for a chat is works Miracles sometimes.

I understand where you are coming from. I know how hard it is to control Pain Frustration More Pain Desperation More Pain.... it’s a horrible circle.

Just take the pain relief that works for You. I refused my Opioids because I have a very strong opinion about them! When you start You can’t get out and the dose just goes up and up and up!

Listen Neil I’m always here if You need me. Please be strong and take care of Yourself.

I really hope You have a better day today.

Hope is the key word although I must admit that sometimes You feel so frustrated so hopeless so angry (Me!) that you just don’t care.

Hugs 🤗

It's got to be the pain I feel everyday my neck, shoulders, spine ankles, toes, legs, knee, hips, groin, lower pelvis, wrists, fingers thank God my ears are fine 😶 the pain stops you doing those things you love or just general like walking the dog having a coffee with hubbie or friend out or shopping because you are physically unable Pure exhaustion sometimes you can push yourself whereas I missed swimming last week with my baby grandson because the time I washed and tried to get dressed was in so much pain had to be put to bed even though I'd taken all my meds so upsetting takes you away from family & friends it breaks your heart if I have one day out I'm in bed for 4

I am exhausted all the time but get dizzy but if I just had some relief my rheumatoid arthritis aswell as putting me on the list for knee surgery & hips effected my other organs including my heart & pancreas so my heart is now damaged I had 3 hearttack within 24 hrs & pancreas put me in intensive care 6months ago

Sorry this was so long & I do still have humour which is a must when stuck in the bath or shower & have to ask grown son to help
