Hello everyone,

During this Coronavirus pandemic, many of us have been advised to "social distance" ourselves or even to stay at home, limiting contact with strangers, friends and even in some cases, family. No more outings to the cinema, the shops, the theatre and all those things we love to do.

We may be "stuck" at home, but let's not let it get us down!

Here are a few little ideas to help you keep busy while staying at home!

Take advantage of this time to:

  1. Call and check up on your loved ones.
  2. Get back into sport (indoors, obviously emoticon wink)! The internet is full of all kinds of tutorials and guides, there is something for everyone!
  3. Read or reread the "classics" or any other of your favourite books.
  4. Spend some time in the kitchen, recreating old recipes or testing new ones. emoticon pizza
  5. Do some spring cleaning or reorganisation.
  6. And above all, do things that make you happy! emoticon dance

What will you be doing whilst staying at home? Do you have any tips or ideas for activities? Share you thoughts or ideas below!

Take care,

Courtney

@Courtney_J I've been reading a few books that I'd put aside to read ages ago and I try to putter around the garden a bit and get at the few weeds that have been popping up if I can get to them. Not easy with my arthritis, but I manage! My children have given me a tablet so I can speak to my grandchildren over video, but I'm not sure I'll be able to manage it! Fingers crossed.

@pancake That's excellent to hear! Best of luck with the tablet!

How has everyone else's first few days of staying at home been?

One more tip. Take this time to de clutter your home, wardrobe, garage. Donate unwanted clothes to charity, old towels and bedding to animal hospital.

Hello all,

I hope you're all doing well!

Here's a little video I thought I'd share that shows some of the creative ideas people have found to keep busy during the isolation! Some of them are quite creative!

Community spirit in coronavirus quarantine: rooftop aerobics, singing and letters

What do you think? Ready to give any of those things a try? emoticon laugh

Take care,

@richie4arthritis Hello Richie, thank you for your comment. We recently opened a discussion about Enbrel here that I think may be of some help to you: Enbrel and the Coronavirus. Feel free to read through the comments and ask your question there. emoticon bashful

@Courtney_J The creativity of humanity in a time of difficulty is just inspiring. Some of those videos of the Italians singing together on their balconies bring tears to my eyes. Maybe I should organise an evening sing along with the neighbours! emoticon music-noteemoticon music-note Myself I've been getting into meditation in an effort to calm some of my stress.

The wife and kids have pulled out some games and jigsaws so we've been having a go at them together. May need to take up some window table tennis with the neighbours though!

I've been attending to the clutter in a few of my cupboards that has accumulated over the years! It's very nice to finally have the time to tackle some of the things I've been setting aside for ages!
