Hello everyone,

During this Coronavirus pandemic, many of us have been advised to "social distance" ourselves or even to stay at home, limiting contact with strangers, friends and even in some cases, family. No more outings to the cinema, the shops, the theatre and all those things we love to do.

We may be "stuck" at home, but let's not let it get us down!

Here are a few little ideas to help you keep busy while staying at home!

Take advantage of this time to:

  1. Call and check up on your loved ones.
  2. Get back into sport (indoors, obviously emoticon wink)! The internet is full of all kinds of tutorials and guides, there is something for everyone!
  3. Read or reread the "classics" or any other of your favourite books.
  4. Spend some time in the kitchen, recreating old recipes or testing new ones. emoticon pizza
  5. Do some spring cleaning or reorganisation.
  6. And above all, do things that make you happy! emoticon dance

What will you be doing whilst staying at home? Do you have any tips or ideas for activities? Share you thoughts or ideas below!

Take care,

Courtney

Hi Courtney I hope you are keeping well and safe. I take a daily walk with my dog, I sometimes I am not  over  keen to go but I know i feel better when I  have. I have done frequent short time sun bathing. I have taken to making cakes for my partner, not for me unfortunately as I am diabetic. I do what I can around the house, fibromyalgia playing up, more so at night but manage to get some sleep in between. I have been reading more 5 books so far  plus  computer games. Keep safe everyone.

I'm taking day by day... I've had to do some online shopping for certain products from other sites due to not being able to register for online shopping from the supermarkets or being able to get the products close by.

My little Jack Russell cross, Rhodie, needs his usual tick and flea treatment, worming tablets and more, so I bought him a squeaky toy at the same time! As usual, one has to wait a few days for delivery but I know its coming so am happy to wait.

I've also had to buy soaps and hand/body cream etc. from other sites, but again if not required urgently I don't mind waiting for delivery. I decided to get a new 'weekly pill organizer' as my one is now too old to see the print/wording i.e. morning, noon, evening and bedtime! I'm looking forward to receiving this as I do my medication weekly to make sure I always have in an emergency.

Today's another day on my laptop catching up with messaging and on my Facebook page; I always love doing this as I find it relaxing and it keeps me well occupied!

I've been managing my time during this lockdown taking each day by day.

Some days I have managed to do a little in the garden, until I am unable to stand & need to be helped back inside by my husband.

I have also done a bit more baking than normal, more cleaning than usual too. And if I have felt up to it I have been teaching myself how to play the oboe, an instrument I had started to learn a while ago but not had much time for.

TV has been on more often and I have found myself binge watching lots of Netflix series & films when I am in too much pain do anything else.  Word puzzles & adult colouring in to keep my mind busy. Loved watching various musicians doing Facebook live shows from their homes during lock down.

Video calls with friends & family has helped keep my spirits up. Miss not being able to go visit them.
