Hello everyone,

It's been a while since you've exchanged your thoughts and experiences in this group, so I thought I'd pop in and ask how are things going.

How have you been feeling? What's new?

Have you been preparing or been in for a treatment?

Have you learned anything lately that could be of use to others?

You are more than welcome to share what you have on your mind! We are here to support and to help.

I thank each and every one of you for the support you've been showing to each other lately and I hope we will continue in the same direction!

Margarita

Hi looking for some advice and reassurance.  I’ve had a lumpectomy 17 months ago and had radiotherapy after it. Even now I’m having what feels like heartburn where I had my op sometimes a pulling or tugging sensation. I’m having a mammogram in two weeks and wondering am I caused these symptoms myself through worry   Any advice please.

Radiotherapy can cause side effects for years after. Surgery leaves scar tissue and not just on the surface. The effects you are feeling are probably just side effects from your treatment.

If you are having a mammogram soon mention it then the technician might get a radiologist to have a look.

I had a mastectomy 7 years ago and the skin on my chest is still tender to touch and numb in places.

Cancer is one of those unwanted gifts that just keeps giving!

Good luck with your mammogram xx

Had my mammogram and thankfully all clear. However I’m back up in three months to do another pulmonary test as lung function dropped by 20%. I’ve scar tissue from a previous chest infection so they are keeping an eye on me.  Which is great. Was a bit disappointed as my first test was 95%. May get out pounding the roads to get fitter for next one. Sorry for the rant just nice to talk about it
