Hello everyone,

It's starting to be cold outside - do you experience more symptoms when it is cold? And how do you manage it?

Please feel free to share your stories and your advice here.

Yes Im struggling with symptoms and weather affliction, but sorry can't suggest any best tricks to beat it! I find wearing a scarf indoors helps with neck soreness and my fingerless gloves are close to hand, even if I do look like steptoe wearing them indoors lol!

I look like the Michelin Man when I go outside now! I have so many layers on I'm surprised I can move, lol.

i too have fingerless gloves on indoors, 2/3 pairs of socks on, scarf round my neck and a fleece blanket over my knees. I feel like a little old lady of 90, I'm only 48!

I find it better if I layer up and thermal vest is a must for keeping my back and shoulders warm. I can't wear tights so I find the over the knee socks helpful, and I alwYs wear my chiffon scarf indoors because I can't stand the cold on my neck.

I find the heat is as bad for my flare ups as the cold. The heat seems to bring more muscle spasms. The cold makes everything ache/burn more than usual.

I also have osteoarthritis as well as fibromyalgia ,both my muscle spasm and mood are affected by the weather, I react to temperature change much more than my family who often can't understand why I feel so cold when they don't. I feel empathy for them as I am always very tired and/or in pain, have tried herbals but nothing works for long, would love my old life back

Thermal vests are helping me too. So many products in shops still. The long sleeved type look like worthwhile as they might help with the arm pain and trying to keep warm. Just recently had anti biotics for a kidney/bladder infection but still getting the pain in my back and abdomen.  At whits end!

Im a lover of up to knee socks and wear them in bed too. I have been wearing thermal vests, but not the long sleeved type. My arms feel the cold and I think I am going to get the long sleeved type and maybe more legging type. Im not sure I would find wearing those types under clothing as they might not sit right or be too much discomfort under there? Do wear thermal leggings as pjs at present.

Our heating hasn't been working for 6 days! All through those awful storms. Cold definitely makes my symptoms much worse. I'm stiff, everything aches, burns, my fingers are swollen and I can't walk properly now with my injured hip.

Hot baths are fantastic. I've got some thermal leggings that are great, I might look for more thermal clothes after all the tips on here. Thanks! :)
