Osteoarthritis is the most form of arthritis and it most commonly occurs in the spine, hands, hips, knees and spine.

Where does your osteoarthritis affect you? Is it just one location or several?

Both knees, right one is more severe, pelvis, spine- right through top to bottom, I’m convinced it’s in my right hip too. Oh and I now think it’s starting in my shoulder. My OA is by far the most debilitating of all my conditions- and I have a few!!

@Julie O sorry to hear about the extent of your conditions. Like you I've been on the same medication  plus some other opiates. It's no fun. I've had my conditions for nearly 20 years and I totally agree with you that nothing takes the pain totally away just masks it.  The best think that I've ever had in help the pain was intravenous ketamine on top of usual meds. The only problem was it totally affected my moods I sat and cried all the time that I was on it.  I've also had it post op which on one occasion caused seizures.  Some time later my pain consultant wanted me to try ketamine injections which would be a much lower dose but the side effects have been so awful over the years that I couldn't even try it. It does get weary trying to manage chronic pain it affects every part of your life. I need joint replacements including both knees but as I've got chronic nerve pain I can't have any operations unless it's life threatening. Then it's difficult to get a consultant who will carry out the operation when they do find someone it is the most senior and experience surgeons carry out the operations.  Every cloud has a silver lining! Lol. Do you have these problems too @Julie O ?  Bless you, we just don't know what new treatments are around the corner.  Keep the faith and hope shining through whenever you're able too.  X
