Luckily not to much but my younger brother has lost several toes and 'shark fin' bones on his feet leaving him permanently requiring specialised shoes made for him. He has also lost feeling in his legs and hands which has been a real problem when he steps on something and he simply does not notice. He has had his stomach stapled and now is injecting himself mainly because he ignored his condition.

I have lost feeling in my feet and am starting to have problems with my right hand .Waiting for a Doppler test next week as my left leg is badly swollen .My problem is that all the various medicines I am on for all my illnesses interact with each other so it is difficult to say what is due to the diabetes or what is due to something else .Just have to make the best of things , take basic precautions , be sensible , pace yourself but get on with life and enjoy each day whatever it sends

Have you developped any complications due to your diabetes? If yes, what are they and at what moment did they appear?
How are you dealing with them?
