Hey I'm very new to writing on a forum also very new to crohns disease, so I'd just like to tell a little about myself and give some context. I was only last week diagnosed with crohns disease of small bowel the last portion of it. For over a year I've been experiencing a lot of abdominal pain all right sided, I kept going to the doctors and at first they thought maybe I had kidney stones so ct for that and showed nothing, pain carried on and docs told me it was more than likely muscular pain because ultra sounds and CTs had showed nothing. After a year of repeatedly going back they finally did a small bowel MRI which showed possible crohns and then a colonoscopy confirmed it. So happy I've got a diagnose now, there hasn't been any talk of medication as of yet I'm waiting for appointment with gastro doc.

One symptom I have and I don't  know if it's related to crohns is hip and groin pain when I'm sitting while driving or lying down on my right side these pains started around the same time as my abdoman pains a year and a half ago so I assume it may be related, has anyone else ever had a similar problem with crohns ?

Apologies for long message I don't know anyone in real life with this disease in just looking to get some opinions from others who can relate. Thankyou for reading

@Robinrose Hello,

Yes, I too suffered from pains when sitting for long periods of time...it feels terrible that I can't even sit without experiencing some discomfort...

My doctor told me that joint involvement is part of the extraintestinal manifestion of crohn's and my skin could also become affected too.

Just know yu aren't alone!

So where abouts do you experience pains when sitting ? Do you experience pain in your hip/groin too?

The more I read about this disease the more I'm amazed by what a 'b word' this 's word' can be

Hope you had a good Christmas and happy New year
