My jaw has been killing me. I go to sleep eventually, and then I wake up multiple times each night due to pain. It’s very very miserable and I hate it. Usually I get a few hours of sleep, wake up, watch TV, and then try to go back. Sometimes I lie awake in bed waiting for the painkiller to kick in, which is worse because I think they have just stopped working on me. I need help , just anything please.

Hello @cloud9, how are you feeling today?

I'm truly sorry to hear about the pain you're experiencing with your jaw. First and foremost, I strongly recommend consulting with a healthcare professional to properly diagnose and treat your jaw pain. They can provide the most accurate advice and solutions for your specific situation.

In the meantime, I'll invite a few members of our community to share what helps them sleep when the chronic pain gets too much:

What is causing the pain would be a starting position and depending on that outcome you may get help from the GP/Dentist. I had neck cancer and the treatment caused massive damage to my jaw, killing the bone tissue. Morphine was issued which of course worked but there are plenty of other options depending on the cause. If infections, then anti-biotics will resolve issues, you can combine Paracetamol tablets with Ibrufen anti-inflamatory types because they are totally different medicines, so can be taken together. Your GP can prescribe stronger versions but in the end find out what is causing the pain then seek a solution. Good luck!

I agree with @robjmckinney ... Find out the root of the pain ie where it is coming from. Visit the dentist and see if that could be the cause. I have osteoporosis and get jaw pain occasionally which my dentist has advised could be a side effect also of the meds I take for it. Paracetamol isn't strong enough. Visit your GP and ask for a stronger painkiller. Drinking chamomile tea might help get you to sleep also.
