Pain, cramps, bleeding, having to run to the loo every 5 minutes. I'm tired of this!

@napoleon I understand how you must be feeling. I felt completely alone after my diagnosis and it's hard to cope with the symptoms. What has helped me is trying to manage my stress through breathing exercises and trying to keep moving when not in a flare-up. Getting out the house for a brisk walk every day helps keep my spirits up and can't be bad for the body! And talking with others on here when I can helps too, of course.

@napoleon Hello napoleon, I'm sorry you're feeling unwell. Chronic conditions can be truly isolating and the symptoms can be difficult to handle when you feel like you are alone.

@Zoe1565‍ thank you for your comment. Those sound like some helpful coping strategies.

Does anyone else have any strategies to cope with their symptoms day-to-day?

Take care,

Michael

@Michael_B I think it depends on the person, of course, but for me, stress is really a stressor. So for me I try to do everything I can to reduce my stress. So I try do so a session of stretching, yoga and meditation at least every other day.

@Keithc that's great to hear that you're doing better! So you had the stoma and then had it removed later?

Yes I had a stoma bag after I had a perforated bowel. The surgeon left 9 inches of large bowel and removed the rest. Had stoma bag for year then the stoma developed a hernia and blocked so rushed back in and west country top surgeon did a reverse operation and removed the stoma bag and attached small intestine to end of large bowel.have to have iron infusion every 6 months but other than that ok

Hi has anyone on here tried CBD oil without THC, which seems to make people stoned. My daughter been on different treatments which did not work, She now on Stelara  injections for the last 6 months, however she starting to feel unwell more frequently the last couple of weeks. Thinking it not working as well now. I have read up on CBD oil, would like advice from someone who has used it.

@Thor15 I'm interested in this too, there was a discussion on here about it a few years ago but no one really had anything to share on it, but I think that was a bit before the CBD trend really kicked off. If I find it I'll tag you in it.
