@Vivien12 Me again , I've just spoken to my hubby, as since the stroke I forget so much, The doctor won't prescribe Tramadol because of the IBS, I've tried it by all accounts and it didn't like me or my tummy so another one crossed off of the list🙄 x

@nineteen_gale Hi Christin, doctor says no to turmeric, I'm on lots of meds that may clash and as I have quite a bad reaction to any anti inflamatories he doesn't think it is worth taking the risk, he says it is good for a lot of people just not me lol 🤣 it's lovely now the sun is shining more, always makes you feel better even if it is only looking through the window. Take care now xx 😊

Hi Sonia
I am sorry that your doctor advised you against Turmeric. It is true that you may not be able to have turmeric as supplements, but dietary Turmeric is very safe. You can add Turmeric to your cooking, stews, smoothies, curries, have turmeric milk. All that helps. Did you read up on the website Turmeric for Health I sent you? It has all the information,do's and dont's, dosages etc. You can also ask question and they reply to you. You also get info on what medication turmeric can interact with. It also states that as long as you leave 3 hours gap between medication and taking turmeric it is very safe. I would not dream of going against the advice of your doctor, and say to you that the supplements may not be for you, but turmeric in diet is very safe. If you are on any blood thinners, then turmeric supplements are a definite NO NO for you, but dietary turmeric is safe. Do more research on the website. I do not know what medications you are on, so can not comment on them and you have to follow your doctor's advice.
Good luck Sonia.

@nineteen_gale hi Christina, do you know if you have to wait two hours between taking turmeric capsules and prescription drugs? I read that you recommended a two hour gap between taking turmeric gold paste and prescription drugs. I tried to speak to my GP and she doesn’t have any knowledge about herbal treatments.
Thanks 🙏 Shirley

Hi Shirley. Its depends on what medication are you talking about. Certain medications require 2 hours gap eg. Blood pressure medication. If you take your medication first thing in the morning, then its safe to take your Turmeric around 2 hours after your meds. It is better not to take turmeric on an empty stomach. So if you take it for your elevenses, that is fine. Why don't you put Turmeric for Health in Google, and you will get all the information come up. Read the Q&A. This mainly applies to Supplements. But if you are talking about turmeric past "Golden Paste" that you make it your self at home, you can take it any time you like as long as you haven't got an empty stomach. You can have it around 11 am or after lunch, or even in the evening. I usually take mine around 7 in the evening an hour or so after my evening meal. Are you on any blood thinning medication? If yes, then do not take turmeric supplements, but just stick to dietary Turmeric, starting on smaller doses like half a tea spoon with black pepper and either Olive or Coconut oil, once a day. If you can tolerate that, and have no gastric upset, then gradually increase it to 1 teaspoon 2 to 3 times a day.
I hope this helps
Good luck
Christina
