Hi @Drashees1,
I’ve updated the title of your post slightly to make it easier for other members to understand and join the conversation.
I see you mentioned shingles, I'm not sure if this is something you’ve recently experienced yourself or something you’re concerned about, but you’re definitely not alone in wondering about it, especially when living with a chronic condition.
If you feel comfortable sharing a bit more, it could really help others respond:
– Have you had shingles recently, or are you noticing early symptoms?
– Are you wondering how it might interact with diabetes or your treatment?
– Is there something specific that’s worrying you right now?
For the community:
– Has anyone here experienced shingles while living with diabetes?
– Did it affect your blood sugar levels or recovery in any way?
– Any tips on managing symptoms or getting support?

@1Deygoothoan Thanks for opening this up.
My uncle has diabetes and had shingles a couple of years ago. His blood sugar went up quite a bit while he was ill, so he had to check it more often until he recovered. He also started antivirals within a couple of days of the rash appearing, which his doctor said really helps.
@astro123, if you think it's starting, it's worth calling your GP sooner rather than later. Hope you're doing okay.

@Bliflot339 Thank you for sharing your uncle’s experience. It’s really helpful to hear how an illness like shingles can also affect blood sugar management for someone living with diabetes.
You also make an important point about seeking medical advice early when shingles is suspected, particularly as antiviral treatment can be time-sensitive.
I hope your uncle has been doing well since then, and thank you for looking out for @Drashees1 too. 💙
With care,
Razar from the Carenity team 💖
