Hello @NinjaTurtle, how are you feeling?
Thank you so much for starting this discussion. Indeed, there's a significant connection between diabetes and high cholesterol and diabetes can affect cholesterol levels, leading to higher levels of LDL ("bad") cholesterol and lower levels of HDL ("good") cholesterol, which can elevate the risk of heart disease and other complications. Have you reached out to your GP regarding this? Perhaps they could tailor a plan that fits your specific needs and condition. Let me go ahead and tag a few of our members to see if they have any advice regarding this issue:

Do you also have to deal with high cholesterol along with your type 1 diabetes? How do you manage the two?
Please feel free to share your input, it will be highly appreciated.
Take care,

Hello everyone, I've been wondering lately... How many of you have high cholesterol ? My cholesterol levels are double what they should be. Throughout my life, I've maintained normal levels until now. I'm not overweight, but i don't workout a lot and have a very sedentary lifestyle. I tried to avoid carbs but I have a lot of meat in my diet and I'm trying to incorporate more veggies. I've also been taking a lot supplements like magnesium, potassium, niacin, and fiber. My last A1C reading was 8.0%.
Before considering medication, I'm curious, do diabetes and high cholesterol often correlate? Any advice on manging?
