Well my experience was not so good as I still had further issues and I now have no bladder and use a Stoma bag to pee. I feel the radiation treatment I had did not do anything to help me in anyway and my surgeon was right to warn me despite me trying to avoid prostate surgery. I still have some minor issues as I have Kidney Stones and will have a scan to decide what happens next but with the current Hospital situation I don't see this happening sometime soon.
My opinion is that it should mean a PSA test should be compulsory for all men once they reach 40yrs of age regardless of colour.

Had a radical prostatectomy on 17/12/24 found the catheter painful ,on removal still very sore and incontinent for over two months at this moment in time 7/3/25 I have improved about50% so have a little optimism that i am going to improve further , one thing that has been constant is the stinging when I pass urine , never experienced this ever before ,had urine tested for infection but negative.on the plus side my latest PSA test the result was not measurable .it was 18.3 before the op.

Hello everyone, how are you doing today?
Undergoing a prostatectomy (surgical removal of the prostate) is a major step in prostate cancer treatment, and recovery can look different for everyone. Some men bounce back quickly, while others face challenges like incontinence, fatigue, or sexual function changes.
How long did it take for you to start feeling “normal” again?
Did you experience any complications or unexpected challenges?
What helped you the most during your recovery, physiotherapy, lifestyle changes, or something else?
