Hi I have just joined and I was wondering if anyone is fighting bladder cancer. I have had removal of my bladder and recently had my kidney removed as it had spread. Im still here to tell the tale but would love to share my experiences with anyone who's going through similar xx

Hi Josephine,

I don't like to talk about my bladder cancer because I don't want people feeling sorry for me, I lost my bladder & prostate gland in September of last year and had my urethra removed in February this year because the surgeon said it would have been too much to remove it with my bladder and prostate gland so delayed it. I had a CT scan the week following the removal of my urethra and was given the all clear of the cancer so hopefully I can lead a normal life again now with the exception of the inconvenience of the urostomy bag emoticon blush.

Best wishes to yourself and all other sufferers,

Jeff

@JEFFJ1950 Hi Jeff, thank you for sharing your story :) I am so glad that you are cancer free now, it must be such a relief.

One of our members recently did a testimonial about her experiencing with cancer and having to get an ileostomy, I know this is different from the urostomy bag but I think you could find it an interesting and supportive read :)
