Hi lindyhop. Believe me turmeric might be good for some ailments, but it doesn't do anything for fibromyalgia pain.My Husband John is my carer and he's been using turmeric in some of our food and drinks for a number of years now and it hasn't helped my fibromyalgia pain at all. I think the only thing that'll help Fibro pain is some kind of magic potion. Mind you, I have a lot of other medical problems going on, so I expect that's making things worse. .Glojo.

I had to come off tramadol as after so many years they weren't helping. Then the gp put me on Butec patches which were good but made me sleep a lot so I'm coming off them now.
I've found a magic potion called Warrior balm, they also do bath salts and shower suds. They're all natural, made with essential oils and they've been a lifesaver for me, they're all I use for pain now.

I tried tumeric for a time and didn't see any results either. For me it's heating pads, regular and gentle yoga and stretching and hot baths. @Hippymum I've never heard of that brand, I'll have to look out for it and try it out!

I have been prescribed and taken all of the meds down through the years. Eg: lyrica amitryptaline etc etc. To a point they all helped with the pain but throughout that journey I lost my personality and myself. I gained almost an extra body weight. Despite my best efforts nothing worked with the weight problem. I went to bed tired got up tired and was exhausted all day everyday. I still had pain. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia rheumatoid and osteoarthritis. My immune system works against me in every possible way.
finally I decided I could no longer live like this and asked my rheumi to take me off all the mind bending medicine etc. This couldn’t happen overnight as I had been taking it for years. However with perseverance and some discomfort I managed to quit everything within three months. Not really what I was advised but I just needed to feel somewhat normal again. I now survive with butrans patches and ixprim. I have finally got my weight back where it should be. I must add that it took nearly two years before my extra weight began to disappear. It has taken probably another three years to get to where I am today weight wise. My mind is clearer too. I still have pain and flares. I sleep sporadically etc. But for me this is better than what came before. I don’t advocate anyone should follow my experience the professionals know best. But I couldn’t live that way anymore. During this time my husband was diagnosed with cancer and despite the treatment passed seven months later at 57. I now live alone and need to be in control of my life as my children are married with children of their own and I only see them a couple of times a year.
I hope this will help someone
