Hi everyone,

How are you today?

We are all noticing the rising costs of living in recent months. As reported in research conducted by Asthma + Lung UK, one in five people living with asthma in the UK have had an asthma attack as a result of changes they have been forced to make due to rising energy, food and household bills. Not only have the rising costs led to worsening mental health, but respondents also said they had cut back on using inhalers to make them last longer.

Have you had an attack in recent weeks? Have you had to cut back on inhaler usage? What prices are you noticed increasing? How are you balancing your household expenses?

I'll tag a few members to get this conversation started. I think everyone can relate and any tips you can share will be appreciated!

I usually control my health problems with a combination of medication and diet. However I have had to make compromises regarding the diet side and have noticed the difference I have a large hiatus hernia which causes me problems with my asthma etc but but even using cheaper options with more preservatives in has effected me. It is a constant juggling act which I feel I am losing

If because of my age I didn't get free prescrptions I couldn't afford my shipping order of medicines. Yes I could have got a prepaid certificate but they are expensive, still cheaper than buying the individual medicines but a lot of money to find in one lump sum.

Since I got my diabetes medicine free I don't see why severe asthmatics say people on at least 2 different medicines every day, couldn't get theirs free.

My main concerns with the rising cost of living are 2 fold. First became I use more electricity than many is the cost there. The second is food, I have numerous allergies and in the past have tried to follow a fairly strict diet. I am now having to make compromises balancing up the ones that will cause me the most harm. Basically I have reduced it to a gluten free diet which is expensive enough. My health has definitely suffered
