Iv started back to work 3days week ....it been 12month since I was diagnosed. Had lump removed should I be sore or in pain where my lymnods was removed ..or my chest not sure to pop up the doc
I had mastectomy without major lymph clearance (they couldn't find enough nodes to warrant removal) in late 2013. I have areas of the chest wall which are still numb from the nerve block and areas that have always been very tender/sore!
I recently had thoracic surgery and I was told by the pain management nurse that mastectomy (and presumably lumpectomy etc) is considered to be one of the more painful surgeries to have as they muck around with the nerve endings etc. She did say that if it bothered me, there were things the GP could prescribe e.g. local anaesthetic patches.
So, if the pain is bothering you, then see your GP - you've got nothing to lose! Good luck!
