I have had epilepsy now for 49 years and am on the 8th trial medication. My seizures are mostly focal and I have a friend who has a VNS installed. It has taken years for him to get control of the seizures through VNS, but he is grateful now for less seizures. Having a VNS does not stop the seizures but can minimalize them to a certain extent. I do not have one inserted.

Hi all,
My doctor recently brought up the possibility of implanting an Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) device. I'm considering it. I would love to negate my seizures as my medication is becoming less efficient. Does anyone have one? What does it feel like? Would you get it again?
Thank you for sharing your experiences.
