I am on pregabalin for epilepsy and only allowed to obtain this on prescription. Also, the pharmacy is only allowed to give me 28 days supply month by month.
I believe it is abused and many are mixing it with other concoctions which is a nightmare.

Hi @EPandMe and @lesmal
Thank you for sharing this. I was not aware that pregablin was used illicitly. I suppose it is good that the doctors are trying to control it by giving only exact amounts month by month but it sounds like a hassle for those that need it. I wonder if it actually prevents abusers from actually getting it or if it just makes it harder for those actually in need.

What do you think, do you think it is good that doctors are strictly monitoring it for their patients? Do you think it prevents abusers from getting their hands on it? Or is it unnecessarily strict?
Take care,
Lizzi

@LizziB Thank you for your response. I do not think the doctors have any control of it being abused. I go through the right channels of getting it legally, even if it is for 28 days only. This can be a nuisance at times, but abiding by the rules is my motto!

Maybe I'm hiding under a rock, but I didn't know of the high rate of illicit drug use of pregablin. There is a lot of counterfeit pregablin out there now as heroin users are using it to sustain a high. Have you guys heard of this?
Be careful out there
