Unfortunately the covid pandemic has let down all the other existing  and potentially missed patients. Phone consultations are a sub standard and backward step. Video consultations show more commitment time wise. Having had to wait by the phone for over an hour past the “appointment” time does nothing for blood pressure levels. But unfortunately it is easier for consultants and can be done from anywhere so will be the new normal consultation going forward. What I don’t understand is at all other previous consultations I have weight and blood pressure taken and a physical examination of my stomach. This appears to be unnecessary now?! The visible signs can be missed.

Secondly trying to get a GP appointment ..........

I never received a shielding letter yet friends with the same cancer did so, the decision who was to shield seems somewhat arbitrary, I do understand there has to be some personal responsibility but the thought an administrative worker decides this is worrying. Looking at the list of people at risk it includes liver disease, as I have numerous liver metastasis does this indicate I was missed from the shielding list? Too much uncertainty.
