I'm 64 now and have never been shown how to use my inhalers. When I see anyone I just get antibiotics and steroids all the time and because of all the steroids I have thin skin and mark at the slightest tap and have to wear protective sleeves

Hi everyone π
When you live with COPD, using an inhaler can quickly become part of your everyday routine.
But using an inhaler correctly is not always as simple as it looks.
Different devices require different techniques. Some depend on how strongly you breathe in, while others require good coordination or enough hand strength to use them properly.
Over time, it can be easy to assume your technique is correct simply because nobody has told you otherwise.
Some people only discover much later that a small adjustment to their inhaler technique can make the device easier to use or help them feel more confident about their treatment.
π¬ Weβd love to hear about your experience:

If you use COPD inhalers, tell us what your experience has been like. A simple tip from another member may encourage someone to speak to their respiratory nurse, GP or pharmacist. π
With care,
