Hi, just joined this group. I've had Fibro for nearly 8 years, a dual diagnosis with CFS as well, plus osteoarthritis in my spine.  I don't work but I do voluntary work to keep me positive.  Life changing is an understatement, have to fight constantly to not give up and to get the best I can out of a limited life.  Looking forward to hearing what has helped other in this horrible situation.

Hi, I have just joined this group.  I have had Fibro for 17 years.  I am coping with it quite well, I am on Clomipramine, haven't looked back since using this.  This last year I have had trouble with Low Blood Pressure and my dose has been

dropped from 150mg to 100mg.  This is a nuisance at the moment but I am taking steps to help my blood pressure, will have to see how I go on.  I have bought a Blood Pressure Monitor today so we will see.

Hi My name is Mo and I have just joined this site.  I have had Fibro for over 20 years. I was given Pregablin, 600mg per day, which was working well, until I needed a hip replacement and was found to have a low kidney function.  The Pregablin was reduced considerably and, although I still take 300 mg per day, I am back having worse pain than ever. Got an appointment with my GP next week, but she has already told me nothing more can be done, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that she can give me something else.

I also wanted to ask, does anybody on her suffer with sweating?  I have been through the menopause, but have started sweating profusely again.

Hi Mo

Sorry to hear you have been struggling with pain. I am on 600mg gabapentin and 25mg amittippline. I know people who are on this combination with higher doses of amitrippline. I also take cocodamol 30/500mg if I go out and about for the day. I am under a rhematoloigist are you? I don't have any experience of excess sweating. Hope you have some joy with your Gp.

Hi Debs,

Thanks for the info, I will talk to my GP about Gabapentin.  I also take 50mg of Amitryptiline (never kow who to spell this) which was helping me to sleep at night, as the pain keeps me awake, and still is when I eventually go off.  I take 60mg of Codeine at night but am not keen on taking anymore, due to it causing constipation.  I have tried cocodamol but found that it wasn't very affective. As I said I have an appointment with my GP next week, which at the moment feels like a lifetime away.  Keeping my fingers crossed.
