I have asthma and have self isolated since the 30th March, on the approval of the company I work for with full pay.  The reason why I isolated is I work in a warehouse, and they keep bringing more and more people in to keep up with the demand of orders.  These people are not listening to the advice given on the 2 metre rule, social distancing and I don't feel safe.  Towards the end of last year (September) I became really ill with a chest infection/viral laryngitis which in the end took me to emergency doctors in the walk in centre.  I feel self isolating is the best thing for me...

@Trcy72‍ I was given the all clear to self isolate by the company I work for, as I have Asthma and I was concerned for my wellbeing, due to them bringing more people in from the big city (Bham).

Although my asthma is not severe I do take Beclometadone Dipropionate/Formoterol fumarate dihydrate 2 puffs 100/6 morning and night, and then I have my Salbutamol which I take between 2-4 puffs when I need it.  Last year I had a really bad bout of viral laryngitis which turned into a chest infection.  I was given a course of steriod tablets Prednisone (5mg) x 6 to take at once every morning for 7 days.

My breathing has never really recovered and i get out of breathe just climbing the stairs.  I was told my doctor to exercise everyday, but I cant even go out...  am I allowed to go in my garden?

@TracyT68 hi as far as I’m aware and last I checked on directgov if you are self isolating in your home because you have symptoms then you must stay indoors if you are social distancing because of health reasons you can go out for one hour a day for exercise and if you are in the shielding category then no one in our except for Carers and no going out it’s is all a bit confusing I have been in total isolation away from my husband sleeping separately living separate him downstairs me upstairs as I have been symptomatic of covid19 since 16/3 I have brittle asthma and my husband is a key worker I have struggled with the isolation at Times but strange how things become the new norm I haven’t had a letter to sheild from nhs although I have pneumonia which is being treated at home and currently on my third dose of prednisone I take symbicort turbo inhaler 400/12  and 2 puffs twice a day spiriva respimat 2.5mcg two puffs once a day then I have the ventolin preventative and bricanyl turbo inhaler I’m hoping to be out isolation by wed fingers crossed and can’t wait until I can go in garden and feel the outside space again sorry if I have waffled lol it’s self isolation thing I could talk for ages lol it’s like a bit of company and contact from the outside world I missed the mad panic buying I have missed the way It all changed as I was already isolating but I’m glad I missed it all crazy people fighting over loo roll cldnt believe it when I seen it on tv.

I have chronic asthma and hadn't received a letter by the end of March. On advise I went to asthma uk website and the advice was to self isolate for 12 weeks. My Dr has rung me on Tuesday, there has been a cock up over the letters and I must self isolate. Since I have received a very brief email but still no letter.

I am not sure what I am going to do next week as my daughter is having a C section on Wednesday and I am supposed to be looking after my 8 year old granddaughter while mum is in hospital. At the moment regardless it looks like she will be brought to me for the day and I will

just have to be extra careful.

It is all the uncertainty and conflicting information that is getting to me.

Update today I received the dreaded letter, it is not a lot of help to be honest. Everyone is reading it to mean different things. I have decided to carry on walking my dog very early in the morning but otherwise stay in. So self isolate it is until June

My son has stepped up to be the dutiful uncle and has said he will have his 8 year old niece while my daughter is having her baby. Amerthyst will wrap Uncle Nathan round her little finger and get spoilt rotten.

I am on fostair 200/6  and ventolin. Also have free flu jab. I haven't had a letter dispite being on the list of meds advising isolate. I am NHS worker and have been made to go back to work after a week at home under the advice of Head office! They have now changed their minds. My partner has atherosclerosis heart disease and he hasn't had a letter either. We are both at risk yet no help or advice. Rang doctors who said they don't do letters and can't speak to GP. Rang NHS 111 and was told they only deal with covid 19 symptoms. Just having to get on with it and hope we don't get infected. Feel let down by government and also NHS 111. Incorrect advice been given out to people.

its very confusing where we stand with asthma I’ve just started taking my inhalers two weeks ago I take the brown one twice in the morning and twice at night and the blue ventalin 100  3-4 times a day I work in a hospital. My husband is a diabetic and don’t know if I should be self isolating all asthma is bad

I'm on Relvar ellipta and ventolin.

I have been taking the ventolin so much so that my head is bursting.

My anxiety level like most people I guess is through the roof.

Due to my anxiety my asthma is so bad. My chest feels so heavy at times and a crushing feeling at times.

My breathing is bad, and coughing so much, sometimes the cough feels different, more like a rough chesty cough which send my anxiety if that's even possible even higher and then my asthma out of control.

Am having dizzy spells and panick attacks with worry.

I work in a care home and due to the cough I am self isolating for 2 weeks. I am due to go back to work on wednesday and I am so so scared I really don't feel safe.

I am the activity coordinator in the home.

I work around all residents and around the care staff too.

Is there anything I can do that I can stay home. I am terrified I will catch this and because of my asthma I have a massive fear I wont survive.

I just want to stay home with my 17yr old daughter. I'm terrified of not being here for her future.

Can I do anything please advice me.

My doctor told me that I am just below the threshold for the 12 leave. But he told me that my asthma is controlled by the daily medication where some people who take no medication and have been in hospital 2xs over the past yr are seen as over the threshold and he told me that my asthma is likely worse than theirs.

I'm trying to be honest by saying I am absolutely terrified and incredibly anxious about having to back into the home.in wednesday.
